  • ¼ teaspoon paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine 4 cups (340g) of frozen shredded hash browns with 2 tablespoons of olive or avocado oil. Toss evenly so every shred is lightly coated.
  3. Add seasoning: Sprinkle 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon black pepper, and, if using, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika. Toss again to distribute all the spices.
  4. Place the hash browns in the air fryer basket in an even layer. Don’t overcrowd—it’s better to cook in two batches if needed to keep them crisp.
  5. Cook for 10 minutes, shaking the basket or stirring gently halfway through to help the hash browns brown evenly.
  6. Check for crispiness: If you want them crunchier, cook for an additional 2–3 minutes, but watch closely so they don’t burn.
  7. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to soak up any excess oil if needed. Serve immediately for that perfect crunch.
