Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  3. Spread the canned fruit filling evenly across the bottom of the pan. Optionally, mix in fresh fruit or vanilla extract with the filling.
  4. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the fruit filling without stirring.
  5. Slowly pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix, covering as much as possible.
  6. Optionally, sprinkle chopped nuts or cinnamon over the top.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the edges are bubbly and the top is golden brown and crisp. If the top browns too fast, loosely cover with foil halfway through baking.
