These savory brown sugar Dijon ham sliders baked in buttery garlic sauce combine sweet, tangy, and rich flavors in soft rolls for an easy, comforting meal perfect for gatherings or quick dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Soft dinner rolls or Hawaiian rolls (King’s Hawaiian preferred)
  • 12 ounces thinly sliced deli ham or leftover baked ham
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar (50 g)
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (30 ml)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (115 g)
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (5 ml)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 6 slices Swiss or Gruyère cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine melted unsalted butter, minced garlic, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and freshly ground black pepper. Whisk until smooth and well blended.
  3. Slice the slider buns horizontally, keeping tops and bottoms intact but separated.
  4. Layer the bottom halves of the buns evenly in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Arrange ham slices on top, covering each bun generously. Add cheese slices over the ham if using.
  5. Place the top halves of the buns back on the ham layers, pressing gently to keep together without squishing.
  6. Pour the buttery garlic sauce evenly over the entire assembly, ensuring it seeps into edges and between rolls.
  7. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes until tops are golden and slightly crispy and sauce is bubbling.
  9. Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use fresh garlic for best flavor. Do not over-soak rolls with sauce to avoid sogginess. Cover while baking to trap steam and soften rolls. Let sliders rest before serving to meld flavors. For dairy-free, use butter alternatives like Earth Balance. For gluten-free, substitute buns accordingly. Cheese is optional but recommended for extra flavor.
