  • ½ cup marinara or pizza sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Pinch of Italian seasoning
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Light dusting of parmesan cheese
  • Olive oil for brushing
  • Fresh basil or oregano for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice each bagel in half horizontally.
  3. Lightly brush the cut sides of the bagels with olive oil.
  4. In a small bowl, mix ½ cup marinara sauce with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
  5. Spread about 1 tablespoon of the seasoned sauce on each bagel half.
  6. Sprinkle ½ cup shredded mozzarella evenly over the sauce.
  7. Top with a light dusting of parmesan cheese.
  8. Place bagels cut-side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or silicone mat.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is bubbly and edges start to brown.
  10. Remove from oven and let cool for 1-2 minutes.
  11. Garnish with fresh basil or oregano if desired and serve warm.
