A quick and satisfying snack made with crisp apple slices, warm peanut butter drizzle, and your favorite toppings. Ready in just 5 minutes, this crowd-pleaser is perfect for after-school snacks, post-workout refueling, or a healthy dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji recommended)
  • ¼ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons dark chocolate chips (mini chips preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped peanuts
  • 1 pinch flaky sea salt
  • Optional toppings: shredded coconut, dried cranberries, granola, melted white chocolate, cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Warm the peanut butter: Scoop ¼ cup peanut butter into a small microwave-safe bowl. Add 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup. Microwave for 15-20 seconds. Stir until smooth and drizzle-able. If too thick, add a tiny splash of water or milk and stir again.
  2. Slice the apples: Wash and dry apples. Cut each apple in half through the stem, then cut each half into quarters. Remove core and seeds. Slice each quarter into 3-4 thin wedges, about ¼ inch thick.
  3. Arrange on the plate: Lay apple slices flat on a serving plate in a single layer, overlapping slightly if needed.
  4. Drizzle the peanut butter: Using a spoon, drizzle the warm peanut butter mixture back and forth over the apples in a zigzag pattern, ensuring each slice gets some drizzle.
  5. Add the toppings: Sprinkle dark chocolate chips evenly over the apples, followed by chopped peanuts. Add any optional toppings if desired.
  6. Finish with salt: Pinch a tiny bit of flaky sea salt and sprinkle over the whole plate.
  7. Serve immediately: Best eaten within 10 minutes of assembly while apples are crisp and peanut butter is warm.

Notes

Best served immediately. Apples will oxidize if sliced too far in advance; toss with lemon juice if prepping ahead. Peanut butter can be warmed in a small saucepan over low heat if no microwave is available. For a vegan version, use maple syrup instead of honey and dairy-free chocolate chips.
