These Easy Caramel Apple Nachos with Toffee Bits are exactly what they sound like, and exactly what you need when you want fall flavor without the fuss. They’re the kind of dessert that feels special but takes ten minutes to throw together.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 medium apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
  • 1 cup caramel bits or soft caramels, unwrapped
  • 23 tablespoons heavy cream or whole milk
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt
  • 1/2 cup toffee bits
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (semi-sweet or dark)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or butter (for drizzling)
  • Optional: chopped pecans or walnuts, crushed pretzels, cinnamon, peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry apples. Core and slice into thin rounds, about 1/4-inch thick. If desired, toss with lemon juice to prevent browning. Arrange in a single layer on a large serving platter.
  2. Place caramel bits and 2 tablespoons heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and pourable (about 1-2 minutes). Add remaining cream if too thick. Stir in a pinch of flaky sea salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and glossy. Transfer to a small piping bag or zip-top bag with the corner snipped off.
  4. Drizzle warm caramel sauce generously over apple slices. Drizzle melted chocolate in zigzags over the caramel. Sprinkle toffee bits evenly on top. Add any optional toppings (nuts, pretzels, cinnamon). Finish with another pinch of flaky salt if desired.
  5. Serve immediately while caramel is warm and apples are cold. Set out small plates and forks, or let people grab slices with their hands.

Notes

Serve immediately for best texture. Apples release moisture if left to sit, making caramel runny. For dairy-free, use coconut cream and dairy-free chocolate. For gluten-free, use certified GF toffee bits. Toast nuts before adding for extra flavor.
