A quick and easy turkey breast recipe with a sweet-tart cranberry orange glaze, perfect for small gatherings or a cozy dinner for two. Ready in about an hour with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 to 1.5 pounds boneless, skin-on turkey breast
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Let turkey breast sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.
  2. Pat turkey breast dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  3. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine cranberries, orange juice, brown sugar, and orange zest. Simmer until cranberries break down and mixture thickens, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in butter and Dijon mustard until smooth.
  4. Optional: Sear turkey breast skin-side down in an oven-safe skillet with oil over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes until golden.
  5. Brush half of the glaze over the turkey breast (skin side up). Reserve remaining glaze.
  6. Roast for 25-30 minutes, brushing with more glaze halfway through. Check internal temperature after 20 minutes; target 160°F.
  7. Broil for 2-3 minutes until glaze bubbles and darkens slightly. Watch carefully.
  8. Rest turkey on a cutting board tented with foil for 10 minutes (internal temp will rise to 165°F).
  9. Slice against the grain and serve with remaining glaze. Garnish with herbs if desired.

Notes

Do not skip resting time. Watch glaze closely under broiler. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy. Let glaze cool slightly before brushing. Double glaze if extra sauce is desired.
