A creamy, slightly sweetened shaken espresso inspired by Starbucks, featuring brown sugar and cinnamon for a warm, comforting flavor. Quick and easy to make at home with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 shots (about 60 ml / 2 fl oz) freshly brewed espresso
  • 2 tablespoons (30 g) packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • About 1 cup (240 ml) ice cubes
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) half-and-half, whole milk, or oat milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brew 2 shots (about 60 ml / 2 fl oz) of espresso using your machine. Alternatively, use 1/4 cup (60 ml) strong brewed coffee if no espresso machine is available.
  2. In a shaker or mason jar, combine 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar and 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
  3. Pour the hot espresso over the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Close the lid tightly and swirl or stir gently for 15-20 seconds to dissolve the sugar.
  4. Fill the shaker about halfway with ice cubes (roughly 1 cup or 240 ml).
  5. Add 1/4 cup (60 ml) of your choice of milk or milk alternative and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract if using.
  6. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds until the shaker feels cold and the drink froths slightly.
  7. Strain the mixture into a tall glass filled with fresh ice cubes (optional).
  8. Garnish with a pinch of cinnamon or drizzle brown sugar syrup on top if desired.

Notes

Use fresh espresso shots for best flavor. Shake vigorously to create froth. Dissolve brown sugar completely with hot espresso to avoid graininess. Adjust milk type for creaminess or dietary needs. Avoid over-icing to prevent dilution. Cold brew concentrate can be used as an alternative to espresso shots but adjust sweetness accordingly.
