These mummy pigs in a blanket are a quick and adorable Halloween appetizer made with crescent dough, little smokies, and mustard eyes. Ready in under 20 minutes, they’re perfect for parties, trick-or-treaters, or a fun family snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 package (14 oz) little smokies or mini cocktail sausages (about 24 sausages)
  • Yellow mustard (for eyes)
  • Optional: Everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds
  • Optional: Marinara or ranch for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough onto a clean cutting board. If using perforated triangles, pinch the seams together to create one solid sheet.
  3. Cut the dough into thin strips about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide, yielding roughly 20-24 strips.
  4. Wrap each little smokie with a strip of dough, starting at one end and leaving small gaps so the sausage shows through. Press the end of the dough gently to seal.
  5. Place the wrapped sausages about 1 inch apart on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the dough is golden brown and puffed, and the exposed sausage is slightly caramelized.
  7. Let them cool for 2-3 minutes on the baking sheet.
  8. Dip a toothpick into the mustard and dot two small eyes onto the exposed sausage section of each mummy.
  9. Serve immediately warm. Optionally, serve with ranch or marinara for dipping.

Notes

Keep the dough cold for easier handling. Don’t wrap too tightly; leave gaps for the mummy effect. Add mustard eyes after baking to prevent melting. Assemble up to 2 hours ahead and refrigerate before baking. For freezing, assemble unbaked mummies, freeze on a sheet, then transfer to a bag; bake from frozen adding 2-3 minutes.
