A quick and easy flatbread featuring fresh figs, creamy brie, peppery arugula, and a drizzle of honey for a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 store-bought thin, crisp flatbread or naan
  • 68 fresh ripe but firm figs, sliced thinly (about 1/8 inch thick)
  • 4 oz brie cheese, sliced thinly
  • 12 tablespoons raw or wildflower honey
  • 1 handful fresh arugula leaves
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Sea salt, to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and allow it to fully heat for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Place the flatbread or naan on a rimmed baking sheet. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon olive oil and spread evenly.
  3. Slice the brie into thin slices, removing thick rind if desired. Slice the figs thinly, about 1/8 inch thick.
  4. Arrange the brie slices evenly over the flatbread, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Top with fig slices in a single layer, slightly overlapping but not crowded.
  6. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper over the top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the brie softens and starts bubbling and the flatbread edges turn golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and immediately scatter a generous handful of fresh arugula over the top.
  9. Drizzle 1-2 tablespoons of raw honey evenly over the arugula and figs.
  10. Slice into wedges and serve warm.

Notes

Keep an eye on the flatbread during baking to avoid burning. Add arugula and honey only after baking to preserve freshness and flavor. For gluten-free option, use gluten-free flatbread and adjust baking time accordingly. Avoid microwaving leftovers to prevent soggy crust.
