A quick and elegant flatbread featuring the perfect balance of salty prosciutto, sweet figs, and fresh arugula, ideal for a fast yet impressive bite.

Ingredients

  • Store-bought flatbread or naan
  • Fresh figs, thinly sliced (12-15 slices per flatbread)
  • Thinly sliced prosciutto
  • Fresh arugula
  • Goat cheese or ricotta (optional)
  • Olive oil
  • Honey
  • Fresh cracked black pepper
  • Lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat for about 30 minutes.
  2. Place flatbread on a baking sheet or peel. Brush lightly with olive oil on both sides. Optionally sprinkle a pinch of sea salt.
  3. Spread goat cheese or ricotta thinly over the flatbread if using.
  4. Layer sliced figs evenly on top of the cheese or olive oil.
  5. Tear or fold prosciutto slices and scatter over the figs.
  6. Bake flatbread for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden and prosciutto crisps. Optionally broil for 1-2 minutes for extra char, watching carefully.
  7. Remove from oven and pile fresh arugula on top, tossed with olive oil and a squeeze of lemon juice.
  8. Drizzle honey over the flatbread and grind fresh black pepper to taste.
  9. Slice and serve immediately while warm.

Notes

Keep arugula fresh and dry until just before serving to avoid sogginess. Watch prosciutto closely under broiler to prevent burning. For softer flatbread, cover loosely with foil after baking and rest 2-3 minutes before adding arugula. Optional toppings include toasted nuts or smoked paprika for extra flavor.
