A light and refreshing appetizer featuring crisp cucumber slices topped with a creamy smoked salmon and dill mixture, perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large English cucumbers
  • 6 ounces smoked salmon, finely chopped
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon capers, chopped (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the cucumbers. Slice into 1/2-inch thick rounds and pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Set aside.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and finely chopped smoked salmon. Mix until smooth but slightly chunky.
  3. Stir in fresh dill, lemon juice, capers (if using), garlic powder, and season lightly with salt and pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning carefully.
  4. Optional: Cover and chill the salmon mixture for 10-15 minutes to meld flavors.
  5. Using a spoon or piping bag, dollop or pipe about 1 tablespoon of the salmon mixture onto each cucumber slice.
  6. Garnish each bite with extra dill or a small caper.
  7. Serve chilled or at room temperature. If made ahead, refrigerate and bring to room temperature about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Pat cucumber slices dry to prevent watery bites. Soften cream cheese before mixing for smooth texture. Chilling the salmon mixture is optional but recommended for flavor melding. Assemble just before serving for freshest texture. Use piping bag for neat presentation.
