Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats (45g) per serving
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (12g)
  • 1 cup milk or milk alternative (240ml) – whole milk, almond milk, or coconut milk
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt (optional, 60g) – plain or vanilla
  • 12 teaspoons sweetener – honey, maple syrup, or agave
  • Flavor combos (choose one):
  • Berry Almond Crunch: 1/4 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen), 1 tablespoon sliced almonds (toasted optional), 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
  • Tropical Coconut Mango: 1/4 cup diced ripe mango, 2 tablespoons shredded unsweetened coconut, 1 teaspoon maple syrup
  • Peanut Butter Banana Swirl: 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter, 1/2 small ripe banana mashed, 1 teaspoon honey
  • Apple Cinnamon Walnut: 1/4 cup finely chopped apple (Granny Smith or Fuji), 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts, 1 teaspoon maple syrup
  • Chocolate Cherry Delight: 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder, 1/4 cup pitted cherries (fresh or frozen), 1 teaspoon honey or agave

Instructions

  1. Measure 1/2 cup rolled oats and 1 tablespoon chia seeds per serving into a mixing bowl or jar.
  2. Add 1 cup of your preferred milk or milk alternative. If using Greek yogurt, add 1/4 cup now.
  3. Stir in 1-2 teaspoons of honey, maple syrup, or agave to taste.
  4. Mix thoroughly with a spoon or whisk to evenly distribute chia seeds and prevent clumping.
  5. Add chosen flavor combo ingredients and mix or layer as desired.
  6. Transfer mixture to individual mason jars or airtight containers, leaving room at the top.
  7. Seal jars tightly and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, ideally overnight (about 8 hours).
  8. Before serving, stir the oats to blend any separated liquid and fluff the texture. Add a splash of milk if too thick.

Notes

[‘Use rolled oats for best texture; avoid instant or quick oats to prevent mushiness.’, ‘Stir the mixture once halfway through soaking to prevent chia seed clumping.’, ‘Add nuts on top just before serving to keep them crunchy.’, ‘Coconut milk creates a creamier texture; almond milk is lighter.’, ‘Can be made vegan by using plant-based milk and yogurt alternatives.’, ‘Store in airtight containers in the fridge for up to 4 days; freeze for longer storage.’, ‘Reheating is optional; warm gently with a splash of milk if desired.’, ‘Adjust sweetness or omit sweeteners as fruit combos add natural sugars.’]
