These No-Bake Oreo Dirt Cups with Gummy Worms are a quick, fun, and nostalgic dessert that comes together in just 10 minutes. Layers of creamy chocolate pudding, crunchy Oreo crumbs, and playful gummy worms create a treat that kids and adults alike will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (3.9 oz) package instant chocolate pudding mix (Jell-O brand recommended)
  • 2 cups cold whole milk (2% works, but whole milk is creamier)
  • 1 (14.3 oz) package Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies, regular not double-stuff)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (optional, helps crumbs stick)
  • 1 cup gummy worms (classic bright-colored or sour worms)
  • Optional: 2-3 Oreo cookies, crushed separately for finer top layer
  • Optional: mint leaves or edible flowers for garnish

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place the entire package of Oreos (cream filling and all) into a large zip-top bag. Seal tight, squeezing out air. Use a rolling pin or your hands to crush into a mix of fine crumbs and slightly larger pieces. If using a food processor, pulse 10-12 times. Set aside about 1/4 cup of crumbs for garnish.
  2. Make the pudding: In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and 2 cups cold milk. Whisk vigorously for about 2 minutes until it starts to thicken. Let sit for 5 minutes to set up completely.
  3. Layer the cups: Spoon about 2 tablespoons of crushed Oreo crumbs into the bottom of each of six 8-ounce cups. Press down gently with the back of a spoon. Spoon or pour pudding evenly among cups, filling about halfway (about 1/4 cup per cup).
  4. Add the worms: Gently press 2-3 gummy worms into the pudding layer in each cup, positioning them so they are partially sticking out.
  5. Top with more dirt: Spoon remaining crushed Oreo crumbs over the pudding layer, covering the worms completely. Use reserved finer crumbs for the top layer.
  6. Chill: Place cups in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up. For best results, chill up to 4 hours but add gummy worms just before serving.
  7. Garnish and serve: Right before serving, add extra gummy worms on top. Serve cold.

Notes

For best results, use instant pudding mix (not cook-and-serve). Let pudding set for 5 minutes before layering. Add gummy worms just before serving to prevent them from getting too soft. For a dairy-free version, use almond or oat milk with dairy-free pudding mix. Gluten-free chocolate sandwich cookies work well as a substitute for Oreos.
