A quick and easy patriotic charcuterie board featuring classic American cheeses, savory meats, fresh fruits, and crunchy accompaniments, perfect for celebrations and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Sharp Cheddar Cheese (8 oz / 225 g)
  • Colby Jack Cheese (8 oz / 225 g)
  • Pepper Jack Cheese (8 oz / 225 g)
  • Thinly sliced smoked turkey or ham (6-8 oz / 170-225 g)
  • Hard salami or pepperoni slices (6 oz / 170 g)
  • Marcona almonds or Old Bay spiced nuts (1 cup / 150 g)
  • Red grapes or fresh strawberries (1 cup / 150 g)
  • Pickled cucumbers or classic dill pickles (½ cup / 75 g)
  • Cherry tomatoes (1 cup / 150 g)
  • Buttery crackers or classic water crackers (1 box)
  • Mini pretzels or breadsticks (optional, 1 cup / 120 g)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs or basil leaves
  • Honey or apple butter (small bowl)

Instructions

  1. Slice the sharp cheddar, colby jack, and pepper jack cheeses into a mix of cubes, thin slices, and small wedges about ½ inch thick. Arrange them on one side of your board, leaving space for other ingredients.
  2. Roll or fold slices of smoked turkey or ham and place them next to the cheeses. Add piles of salami or pepperoni nearby to create a savory section.
  3. Wash and dry grapes or strawberries, then scatter them in clusters to add bright color. Place cherry tomatoes and pickles in small bowls or directly on the board.
  4. Add a bowl of Old Bay spiced nuts or Marcona almonds. Scatter some mini pretzels or crackers around the board, filling any gaps to make the spread look full and inviting.
  5. Tuck fresh rosemary or basil sprigs throughout for aroma and visual appeal. Set a small bowl of honey or apple butter on the board for drizzling.
  6. Fill any empty spots with extra crackers, nuts, or fruit to achieve a balanced mix of colors, textures, and flavors.

Notes

Keep cheeses at room temperature about 15-20 minutes before serving for best flavor. Prepare the board up to 2 hours ahead and keep chilled until serving. Use small bowls for wet items like pickles and honey to avoid sogginess. For gluten-free, use almond flour crackers; for dairy-free, use vegan cheeses.
