quick witches brew green punch - featured image

A spooky, vibrant green punch that creates dramatic dry ice fog for Halloween parties. This quick and easy recipe comes together in under 10 minutes and is perfect for both kids and adults.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 liter lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7UP)
  • 1 liter green apple soda (like green Gatorade or green apple soda)
  • 1 can (12 oz) frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 23 pounds dry ice
  • Green food coloring (optional)
  • Ice cubes
  • Gummy worms or plastic spiders (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Chill all sodas, limeade concentrate, and pineapple juice in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
  2. In a large punch bowl, combine the lemon-lime soda, green apple soda, thawed limeade concentrate, pineapple juice, and cold water. Stir gently to combine.
  3. Add about 2 cups of regular ice cubes to keep the punch cold.
  4. Put on gloves or use tongs to handle the dry ice. Break it into 1-2 inch chunks.
  5. Using tongs, drop 2-3 chunks of dry ice into the punch bowl. Do not add all at once.
  6. Wait about 30 seconds for the fog to build and roll over the sides of the bowl.
  7. Ladle the punch into cups, being careful to avoid scooping up dry ice chunks.
  8. As the fog fades (after 15-20 minutes), add 1-2 more chunks of dry ice to refresh the effect.

Notes

Never touch dry ice with bare skin—use tongs or gloves. Do not seal dry ice in an airtight container. The fog effect lasts 15-20 minutes per batch; add more dry ice as needed. For a less sweet version, swap one liter of soda for sparkling water. For an adult version, replace one liter of soda with white rum or vodka.
